About the Opportunity
The Department of Human Services (DHS) is offering a paid Office Administration Traineeship within the Disability Policy and Reform team. This opportunity is specifically offered to people living with disability who are seeking an entry‑level pathway into the South Australian public sector. This role provides a supportive introduction to office administration while undertaking a Certificate III in Business Administration, with structured training, on‑the‑job learning, and mentoring.
About the Role
As an Office Administration Trainee, you will support the day‑to‑day operations of the Disability Policy and Reform unit with a focus on contributing to the administration of programs such as the Julia Farr Disability Inclusion Grants and committees. With guidance and supervision, you will assist with general administrative tasks, meeting coordination, record keeping, and customer service activities, gaining exposure to meaningful work that supports inclusion and positive outcomes for people with disability across South Australia. This role is designed to build confidence, capability, and practical workplace skills in a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.
About You
This traineeship is intended for a person living with disability who is at the early stages of their career and looking for a supportive way to develop skills and experience. You do not need prior qualifications or office experience. Instead, we are looking for someone who:
• is interested in learning administrative and office‑based skills
• is willing to participate in training and complete a Certificate III in Business Administration
• can follow guidance, ask questions, and learn new tasks at a supported pace
• enjoys working as part of a team and contributing to shared goals
• values respectful communication and inclusive workplaces.
