About the Business

Our Disability Services team is dedicated to delivering high-quality, rights-based services to over 1,000 South Australians. We specialise in providing NDIS, Aged Care, and State-based community and residential services. Our person-centred philosophy, "Everything about you, with you" ensures we work collaboratively with our clients to meet their needs. 

Role Details

Are you passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives? As a Disability Services Officer, you’ll provide vital support to individuals with disabilities, helping them lead independent, fulfilling lives. Your role will include fostering community inclusion, delivering personal care, and building meaningful relationships.

Do you have a strong understanding of person-centred practice? Are you committed to supporting people in a way that upholds their rights, choices and dignity? Can you demonstrate your experiences implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans and working alongside people who use a variety of communication or regulation strategies to have their needs met?  If so, we'd love to hear from you.

As a Disability Services Officer working for DHS your role will be to support people with disability to fully participate in all aspects of their lives at home and in the community. You will ensure the people you support have maximum control over their own lives.

A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is a requirement for the DIS02 role. You must hold this qualification to commence employment. For the DIS01 role if you are successful in your application, and do not currently possess it you must enrol and commence studying towards the Certificate III (Disability) at the earliest opportunity, and complete within two (2) years.

Special Conditions

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is required for a DIS02 role.
  • For a DIS01 role, you must be enrolled or willing to enrol in and work towards a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), with completion required within two (2) years.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • National Police Check issued within the last six (6) months.
  • National Disability Insurance Scheme Worker Check.
  • Full Australian issued driver’s licence (equivalent to SA Class C).
  • Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation.
  • Completion of NDIS Supporting Effective Communication module.
  • Completion of NDIS Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals module.
