About the Business
Our Community and Aboriginal Partnerships Division helps to build community safety and wellbeing by providing support and services to children, young people and families, including those involved with the youth justice system, remote Aboriginal communities, and people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The division also supports DHS's Closing the Gap commitments.

We are seeking a
passionate community-focussed individual to join our team in the beautiful and
culturally rich APY Lands. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to
meaningful outcomes, build strong relationships and be part of a supportive team
working alongside communities and other stakeholders and connect with families and individuals, offering support and
partnership in a flexible, community-based role.
The Program Coordinator, APY Lands, is a role with within Remote and Regional Service Development and is accountable to the Senior Project Officer, APY Lands, for:
• leading site administration of the Family Wellbeing Centres on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands in a range of functions including supporting staff, data collection and reporting requirements
• supporting stakeholder relationships that contribute to effective service delivery to clients and communities on the APY Lands
• co-designing and supporting programs and services that address the needs of community members
• assisting, coordinating and advising the Remote Visitors Outreach team on how to work effectively with remote Aboriginal visitors, specifically those who have returned to Country.
Special Conditions
National Police Check required.
Employment-related Screening Check required.
Some out of hours work may be required.
Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
Must hold a current Australian issued driver’s licence (equivalent to minimum class C).
Duration: Term up to twelve (12) months.

Screening Checks
If you are new to the department and are invited to an interview, you will be required to produce a National Police Check,
which has been issued within six months of your application for the role. National Police Checks can be applied for via the
South Australia Police
or through an Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission accredited body.
If the role you are applying for also requires an Employment-related Screening Check, you will be required to undergo such assessment as is advised by DHS,
including periodic assessment during your employment.
