About the Business
Our Finance, Digital and Customer Support Division oversees the department's budget and financial compliance responsibilities, its infrastructure and assets portfolio, as well as procurement and quality assurance functions, digital, data and technology and screening transformation. They provide support and strategic advice across the department regarding a range of DHS goals, systems and processes.
Role Details
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Compliance and Accounting Services, this role is crucial in delivering expert accounting advice, leading the preparation of financial statements, overseeing audit processes, and contributing to the development of robust financial policies and procedures.
We are seeking a candidate who brings strong technical expertise in financial compliance and accounting, coupled with leadership capabilities to support building an agile team to meet changing priorities.
Fostering a culture of integrity and continuous improvement, the role will lead business improvement initiatives that strengthen governance, support best practice, and ensure consistent reporting practices. Additionally, ability to build genuine partnerships with stakeholders, both internal and external will support to achieve departmental objectives.

Essential Qualifications
Incumbent must hold a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or other related discipline.

Screening Checks
If you are new to the department and are invited to an interview, you will be required to produce a National Police Check,
which has been issued within six months of your application for the role. National Police Checks can be applied for via the
South Australia Police
or through an Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission accredited body.
If the role you are applying for also requires an Employment-related Screening Check, you will be required to undergo such assessment as is advised by DHS,
including periodic assessment during your employment.
