About the Business
Our Finance team partners closely with business areas, working collaboratively to provide expert financial advisory services, including strategic accounting and financial guidance that supports the department's goals, budgets, processes, and systems.
Role Details
Reporting to the Manager, Finance Business Partnerships, this position is responsible for leading a high-performing team to deliver expert financial consultancy services across a diverse portfolio. The role includes leading the preparation and analysis of critical financial information, supporting senior management decision-making and ensuring the financial sustainability of the portfolio to support the delivery of the department’s strategic initiatives. Key responsibilities include developing accurate financial reports, budgets, and forecasts aligned with departmental strategies, providing professional advice on complex financial matters.
A key focus of the position is identifying opportunities to streamline financial processes, uplift capability, and embed consistent, best practice approaches that enable the business to respond effectively to changing priorities.
We are seeking a leader with a strong track record in change management and continuous improvement, who can build and lead an agile, high performing team through periods of transformation. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to review existing practices, drive efficiencies, and implement sustainable improvements, while maintaining a strong customer focused service ethos. Highly developed relationship management skills are essential, with the ability to establish trusted partnerships and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support the financial sustainability of the portfolio.

Some out of hours work may be required.
Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
Duration: Term up to six (6) months.
Essential Qualifications
Incumbent should hold a degree level qualification in accounting, commerce, economics, business or other related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.

Screening Checks
If you are new to the department and are invited to an interview, you will be required to produce a National Police Check,
which has been issued within six months of your application for the role. National Police Checks can be applied for via the
South Australia Police
or through an Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission accredited body.
If the role you are applying for also requires an Employment-related Screening Check, you will be required to undergo such assessment as is advised by DHS,
including periodic assessment during your employment.
