About the Business
Our Organisational Development and Learning team deliver strategic expertise and business services in individual and organisational learning, development and recruitment to build leadership capability and champion DHS workforce strategies and initiatives.
Role Details
Lead the way in shaping professional development and delivering innovative learning solutions that build capability and support better outcomes for South Australians. As a Principal Consultant, you’ll drive the design and delivery of strategies that empower staff, foster a high-performance culture, and support the Department of Human Services in achieving its vision.
As a member of the Organisational Development and Learning team, you will lead the planning, design and implementation of innovative learning and professional development strategies that strengthen workforce capability across the department. This role requires creativity and continuous improvement, incorporating contemporary approaches and emerging technologies - such as online learning and microlearning - to deliver engaging and effective solutions. You will build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external training providers to ensure the successful delivery of both accredited and non-accredited programs that meet compliance requirements and organisational goals. In addition, you will oversee the performance and development of the Learning and Professional Development team, fostering a culture of performance and driving outcomes that make a real impact.
What We’re Looking For
• experience in developing and implementing learning and professional development strategies, including online learning solutions and learning management systems
• strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and provide high-level advisory services
• expertise in instructional design and evaluation of learning programs, including non-accredited and customised workforce solutions
• analytical and conceptual skills, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.

Screening Checks
If you are new to the department and are invited to an interview, you will be required to produce a National Police Check,
which has been issued within six months of your application for the role. National Police Checks can be applied for via the
South Australia Police
or through an Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission accredited body.
If the role you are applying for also requires an Employment-related Screening Check, you will be required to undergo such assessment as is advised by DHS,
including periodic assessment during your employment.
