About the Business

Our Finance team partners closely with business areas, working collaboratively to provide expert financial advisory services, including strategic accounting and financial guidance that supports the department's goals, budgets, processes, and systems.

Role Details

Provide strategic financial advice to senior leaders and executives and influence key business decisions through high-quality financial analysis and reporting; Maintain effective relationships with assigned portfolios, delivering responsive and customer-focused finance services; Lead continuous improvement initiatives that drive organisational performance; Oversee team performance and workload management while driving a culture of accountability, efficiency and continuous improvement.

About the Role
Reporting to the Principal Finance Business Partner, you will provide financial leadership and expert advice to support informed decision-making, financial sustainability and organisational performance across a diverse portfolio. You will partner closely with executives, managers and key stakeholders to lead high-quality financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting that supports the achievement of business objectives. You will also supervise and mentor team members, monitoring their work against agreed performance outcomes. A key focus of the role is building strong stakeholder relationships and driving continuous improvement in financial management practices. You will lead and support finance team members, contribute to major government budget processes, and coordinate financial projects and initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, strengthen financial governance and deliver positive outcomes for the organisation.

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a collaborative finance professional who can provide trusted advice and build strong partnerships across a complex operating environment. You will bring:
• proven experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives to improve financial processes, processes and reporting and implement practical solutions
• demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, forecasting and reporting within a large and complex organisation
• proven ability to confidently present complex financial information, forecasts, risks, and key insights to Executive to support decision making and organisational performance
• strong knowledge of financial governance, accounting principles, government financial frameworks and reporting requirements
• experience leading and developing staff, managing workloads and fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and high performance
• well-developed stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and collaborate effectively across all levels of an organisation.

Essential Qualifications
Incumbent should hold a degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or other related discipline.
