About the Business

Our Finance team partners closely with business areas, working collaboratively to provide expert financial advisory services, including strategic accounting and financial guidance that supports the department's goals, budgets, processes, and systems.

Role Details

The Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Compliance Accountant to support the integrity of financial operations and ensure adherence to government financial policies.

Reporting to the Manager, Financial Compliance and Accounting Services, you will provide expert advice on accounting treatments and financial compliance matters, lead investigations into financial compliance issues, and contribute to business improvement initiatives across the department.

This is a key opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a collaborative environment, influence financial governance, and support the delivery of high-quality public services through sound financial practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate will hold a relevant degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a closely related discipline and ideally, will have also completed professional qualifications offered by CPA Australia.

Special Conditions

National Police Check required.
Role Status: Term up to twelve (12) months.
