About the Business
Our Disability and Specialised Services (DaSS) Division delivers essential support to South Australians through high-quality NDIS services, sector reform, inclusion-focused policy. We provide direct disability supports through Supported Independent Living, and specialised care through our Disability, Clinical and Quality Services, as well as Aged Care Projects. Our work is strengthened by Corporate and Engagement teams, ensuring strong governance, collaboration and positive outcomes for people we support.
Role Details
3 Full-Time Day shift | 12-Month Contract Positions
Adelaide Metropolitan Area
We are seeking Expressions of Interest from motivated, compassionate, and committed female staff member to join a dedicated team supporting two NDIS participants with complex support needs. This is an exciting opportunity to build meaningful relationships and make a genuine difference in people's lives by supporting them to live safely, pursue their interests, build independence, and participate in their community.

The people you will support benefit from consistent staff who take the time to build trust, provide reassurance, and deliver person-centred support. Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a calm and positive environment are essential.
As a Disability Support Officer, You Will:
• build positive and trusting relationships
• support participation in community and recreational activities
• promote independence, choice, dignity, and wellbeing
• provide emotional support and reassurance when needed
• deliver person-centred support in accordance with individual needs and goals
• work collaboratively as part of a dedicated support team
Training and Support
These positions involve supporting people with complex health and high-intensity support needs. Comprehensive training, supervision, and credentialling will be provided in areas including:
• medication administration
• enteral feeding
• dysphagia management
• epilepsy management
• diabetes management
• continence care
• respiratory support
• tracheostomy support
• gastrostomy care
• catheter and stoma care
• pressure area care
• complex bowel management

Some out of hours work may be required.

Screening Checks
If you are new to the department and are invited to an interview, you will be required to produce a National Police Check,
which has been issued within six months of your application for the role. National Police Checks can be applied for via the
South Australia Police
or through an Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission accredited body.
If the role you are applying for also requires an Employment-related Screening Check, you will be required to undergo such assessment as is advised by DHS,
including periodic assessment during your employment.
