About the Business

The Workforce Development and Integrity Division plays a critical role in building our capable, inclusive, and high-performing workforce and by extension, supporting the delivery of safe, trusted services for the South Australian community. The division provides internal strategic and operational workforce services, whilst also contributing to the boarder public safety and integrity through the provision of screening services. 

Role Details

Screening is seeking to fill a vacancy to ensure business continuity during a period of high volumes of renewal applications and outstanding checks which are pending assessment according to Screening Unit specific legislative, policy and processing requirements and approvals authorisation matrix.

The Assessment Officer is a role within Community Investment and Support, Screening Unit and is accountable to the Team Leader, Assessment for:
Making decisions on a person's suitability to work with children and vulnerable people.
Conducting relevant history assessment on child protection and criminal history information and screening
in accordance with assessment procedures.
Preparing written assessment briefings regarding criminal offending.
Providing high quality customer service to achieve the Screening Unit's objectives.

Special Conditions

Employment-related Screening Check required.
Role Status: Term up to 30/06/2026.
